Whether you have just moved to Romania or have been here for some time, you have surely learned by now that Romanian is a beautiful language but not that easy to pick up.
Romanian is one of the most ‘stubborn’ Romance languages (of the same family with Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, Catalan) – considered by some scholars the most ‘pure’ Romance language.
It is the closest to Latin and because of that, it has a very complex and intricate grammatical structure. It also has a very rich vocabulary, with borrowings from: Slavic, Hungarian, Turkish, Greek, German, French, Italian and English.
